With the approximately 47 000 full-time students and 4 000 researchers which Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University have, life science companies established within Stockholm Life Solna-Stockholm have a strong recruitment base with access to a large pattern of qualified and highly-educated people. In addition, companies are close to the university hospital, which facilitates clinical development and testing. Due to the high concentration of life science companies in the area, there are many opportunities for valuable knowledge exchange, exposure and cooperation.
Healthcare providers will benefit from the joined efforts and increased cooperation opportunities with companies and academic institutions, which help putting patient security in focus. A better cooperation between healthcare providers and industry will in addition accelerate the development of new medical technology products which patients will benefit from.
